Salma Hayek had her first big Hollywood role with Robert Rodriguez's Desperado. Then her fame grew with Frida and her Academy Award nomination. Hayek was also involved with television as producer of executive productions for Ugly Betty and other hit shows. Salma Hayek's childhood started on the 2nd of September, 1966, when she was born to her Spanish father and a Lebanese mother in Coatzacoalcos. Hayek, who was raised in an orthodox Catholic household, was a member of the Louisiana's monastery at the age of 12 old and spent her teenage time living in Houston, Texas with her Aunt.
